Some items can be borrowed with just an account. Others need an active membership, and the shop tells you which is which before you get to checkout.
Most shops let you borrow with an account alone. A few items are kept for members, usually the expensive or heavily booked ones.
Items that need a membership are marked Members only wherever you see them, so you know before you add one to your basket.
You can still browse and add them. The check happens at checkout, and the shop tells you exactly which item is holding things up.
On an item that needs one, a Members only badge sits with the title.
Hover it for a one-line explanation. Items without the badge can be borrowed with your account alone.

In your basket, the notice lists the items that need a membership by name.
If the rest of your basket is fine, removing the named item lets the others go through. A basket is checked out all at once, so one members-only item holds up everything with it.

Use the membership link in your basket.
It takes you straight to the membership step and brings you back to this basket afterwards, so you do not lose what you picked.

Pick a plan and complete it.
When you are done you land back on your basket, the notice is gone, and you can check out.
