When an item comes back after the due date, choose how much to charge and collect it as you mark the item returned.
Late fees are settled on the order, when you take the item back.
Select the overdue item, mark it returned, then choose whether to charge the full late fee. Payment is collected before the return is saved.
On the order, check the item the customer is handing back.
Late fees are calculated from how many days past the due date it is.

Click Mark as returned.
Because the item is overdue, the next screens let you charge or waive late fees before the loan is closed.

Leave Charge late fees in full checked to collect the full amount for the days late.
Uncheck it if you want to waive the fees or charge a different amount. Click Next to continue.

Choose Account balance to charge the late fees to the customer's account.
Then click Confirm return.

Confirm the transaction. The order status is Fulfilled and the item is Returned. The late fees have been taken from the customer's account balance.
