Each inventory item belongs to a product and represents one real-world object — for example, Circular Saw #1 or Table #3. Inventory items are used to track what’s happening on the ground: availability, location, status, serial number, and whether the item is currently rented, reserved, or under maintenance.
This allows you to manage multiple copies of the same product individually while keeping accurate records of usage, returns, and condition over time.
